The Sgt. Lawrence Everhart Chapter is Chapter 1 of the Maryland Sons of the American Revolution and it serves Frederick County. It was the first chapter formed in Maryland by the NSSAR in 1920. The chapter bylaws are dated 1925, and the chapter has been active continuously since it was organized. There are two regular meetings, which are the annual meeting in the fall and a semi-annual meeting in the spring.
